History of the Weingart-Price Fund In 1998, the Price Family Charitable Fund entered into a partnership with the Weingart Foundation (Los Angeles, CA) to establish a major charitable fund at The San Diego Foundation. The Weingart Foundation has been a major contributor to nonprofit organizations in San Diego for many years. By combining its efforts with the San Diego based Price Family Charitable Fund, the Weingart Foundation believes that its philanthropic efforts in San Diego and Imperial Counties will become even more effective. Funding Guidelines The Price Family Charitable Fund is the adviser to the Weingart-Price Fund. The following guidelines for funding requests have been established:

Those requesting program grants or funds for pilot programs will need to demonstrate a capacity to measure and quantify results and, hopefully, have a reasonable chance of replication in other communities. Grant Request Procedure The Weingart-Price Fund accepts and processes requests for grants throughout the year. A qualifying organization may submit a brief letter to The San Diego Foundation containing a concise description of the organization, its needs for funds, the amount requested, the expected outcome if the grant is approved, what differentiates this program from others currently existing in the community and how the program will be evaluated. Letters should be sent, along with a copy of the IRS charitable tax status determination letter, to: The San Diego Foundation 2580 Historic Decatur Road #200 San Diego, CA 92106 USA Attention: Weingart-Price Fund Website: www.sdfoundation.org The San Diego Foundation, with the assistance of the Price Family Charitable Fund, will review all grant requests in a timely manner.
