Metro Career Center

The Metro Center consists of two distinct projects, an office building and housing project completed in November 2004. Land for the project was acquired by Price Charities, and a portion sold to accommodate the new housing. The housing project consists of 120 rental units on 39th Street and Polk Avenue (Metro Villas) developed by the City Heights Community Development Corporation. The 82,000 square foot office building (Metro Career Center) developed by Price Charities is on University Avenue. The office building houses the San Diego Workforce Partnership, bringing essential job training and job placement services to City Heights. The Metro Center has almost 500 off-street parking spaces and two tot lot playgrounds. All electrical, telephone and cable television services are underground. Improvement to the area is significant and appears to be encouraging further revitalization of immediate surroundings.
